The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) conducted several tests:
In a sand bottom, using an early model 10 lbs anchor, the pull was stopped at 3,000 pounds for fear of breaking the shackle.
In soft mud the XYZ set and held at 400 pounds. Equivalent to the holding of the 35 pound Delta anchor.
In sand tests conducted by the inventor on Long Island, NY, the XYZ broke a 5/8 inch twisted nylon rope on several occasions when pulled from the shore by a truck.
In our own tests, conducted aboard a 40 ft. sail boat over a 3 week period, the XYZ performed flawlessly.
